Game Machines

Level 3 games design

Unit 20 Computer game platforms & Technology

Game Machines

I will be talking about the game machine i first used when i was young and comparing it to the Game Machine i use today.

My first Game Machine

The first Game Machine was the game cube and i found it very enjoyable but today they are not on the level that the Consoles are with specs and memory.
The GameCube was on of the best consoles that was around when i was young and i always played it when i had free time. My first game was Star fox and i spent hours on that game and completed it many times and when i started to get more games on my GameCube i always went back to Star fox when i got bored.

The Game Machine i use now

What i use now is a PC for my gaming because i found that PC games are more fun to play and some are more challenging than the games on Xbox One and PS4 also the PC has more games than the others.
The game i play most on PC is Smite because i found it very challenging but there are many others that i play as well.

Comparing the two

The main difference with the two is memory the memory on GameCube Main RAM 24 MB When the PC has an average of 8GB of RAM. The PC has games that can be downloaded but on the GameCube you cannot download games but you can play online on both of them.
The resolution on GameCube is 480p and the PC can go up to 1080p.
While the GameCube has controllers you can also used a controller but that is a choice and i prefer to use a keyboard.
The games on PC are very different because on the GameCube a lot of the games are over world or 3D but on PC you can get a variety of games going from 2D Platformers to 3D Shooters and the ones on PC are a lot smoother and have better graphics than the GameCube.
